the editing this season has been really bad. i know they haven't been perfect in general, but there are so many storylines setup and dropped for no reason. remember sarah and troyzan? brad with cirie and aubry? michaela and tai last week? i get that the game changes (lol) all the time, but the editors' main job should be to cut through the confusion to find the key storylines. this season has been a mess, through and through, and i only put half of that blame on the players.

Yeah I was somewhat convinced Tai was going to get James'd and was glad that didn't happened, but I was surprised by Michaela and didn't want her to go. At this point, I am mostly rooting for Sarah to lose.

I've only seen 4 other Big Brother seasons but I've loved this season of BBCAN5 the best, despite the obvious ending (but that can't be helped) it was a very wild ride

Ye gods... I think what irks me the most about President Sarah is not that she's running unopposed at this point, her repugnant voice (that drab monotone combined with that thick Midwestern accent ick), or even her incessant gamebotting! No the thing that makes me lose sleep at night is that blank stare she gives the camera as she's showing her vote, her deciding vote. It's like... you have this much power and influence and instead of owning up to it and smirking a little bit or something you consistently wear this deer-in-headlights expression that says nothing of your strategy or personality. You could replace her eyeballs with eye-sized black screens with lines 0s and 1s moving across them and nothing would change. Fuck her advantages, fuck her ahptions, and fuck the woman herself.

I don't hate Sarah but I haven't found any reason to root for her. She just isn't appealing in any way. If I was an editor and my job was to make the audience want to want her to win, I would probably quit out of frustration before they'd have the chance to fire me for not performing and not being up to the task.

I think he means that the editors made it look like Cirie got the advantage and just sat around with it for a while, never bothering to read and confirm it did what Sarah said it did.

According to Michaela, Sarah told them about the advantage but didn't give Cirie the clue until right before.

Knowing that now, I'd say it wasn't entirely the editors because Cirie did know about the advantage and plotted how to best use it all day, while Sarah intentionally didn't show Cirie the clue for whatever reason. The edit never made this clear, and instead only made it look like Cirie had the advantage the whole time and just didn't bother to read the fine print. So the editors did make Cirie look a little... dumb.

The edit, however, did make Sarah look bad in that entire sequence of events leading up to the TC.


This is what I jotted down:

+ Aubry and Tai both agree Sarah is the 'game player' in the eyes of the jury. Sarah is the "dangerous one".

Tai tells us he needs to make big moves to impress the jury.
Tai tells Aubry that Sarah isn't his friend.
Aubry decides she needs to take out Tai because he wants to make a big move.
Aubry tells Cirie that Tai wants Sarah out.
Cirie tells Sarah that Aubry said Tai wants her out.

- Sarah tells us "for whatever reason Cirie wants to believe Aubry."
- Sarah says she believes Tai over Aubry.
+ Sarah gives Cirie her advantage because IF she does get turned on, at least Cirie has it.
+ Sarah tells us that if this move doesn't scream "loyal", she doesn't know what does.
- Cirie tells us that Sarah is so confident in Tai she can't even get the woman to use her own advantage.
- Cirie wonders if she should play the advantage to save Sarah and risk her being mad at Cirie afterward.
- Michaela tells us that Sarah is confused. "If Sarah is wrong about Tai (which she is), it doesn't just screw up her game, it screws up my game (Michaela's) and Cirie's game."
- Michaela says it's a shame they have to use her own advantage to keep Sarah in the game.
- Cirie formulates a pretty flashy move to protect Sarah in the event an idol is played by Tai. She correctly assumes Tai has an idol.

- At TC Sarah opens to say "I had to get to the bottom of it to find out who was telling me the truth and not telling me the truth". Except we didn't see her do any of that and instead we just saw her being wrong about Tai the entire time.
- Cirie explains that the person she saves (Sarah) tonight with the advantage will thank her tomorrow for exposing the rat (Tai).
- Sarah takes back the advantage, believes Cirie was using it against her, and goes straight to Tai (the rat) first... and the edit doesn't tell us what she says.
- We get to hear Cirie explain herself to Sarah, and all of it is 100% what we saw over the episode. The big question now is: does Sarah believe the truth?
- Sarah votes out Michaela, her ally, as well as Cirie's ally, clearly not believing the truth. At the top of the TC she said she's gonna see if she was right or not about the truth, and at the end she could not be more wrong.
- Michaela leaves saying "I don't know how that made sense, Sarah, but you do you. Good luck everyone else."


Essentially, based on the edit, Sarah fucked up. But given her edit and the likelihood of her winning because of it, it probably doesn't matter that much. But... she definitely wasn't portrayed as smart this episode.

Sarah definitely did not make Cirie look like Erik. Rewatch the edit and pay attention -- I just did, and it's very evident that Sarah was demonstrably confused, trusting Tai (the rat) all episode despite Tai wanting Sarah out.

Sarah gave the advantage to Cirie to prove her loyalty, to keep Cirie on her side and not turn against Tai. But Tai was shown to be against Sarah, so this was the wrong move.

Cirie spent the episode trying to find a way to use the advantage to save Sarah AND prevent Tai from playing his idol--which would likely take Sarah out. Sarah, meanwhile, was entirely confident Tai was on her side and didn't want her out, which we saw wasn't the case at all.

Sarah didn't make Cirie look dumb. The edit made it look like Cirie didn't read the fine print and at the same time Sarah had the wrong idea of who to trust, which in turn had her take out one of their own allies in Michaela.

I'l actually spare you the time by just straight up saying I know you can't prove your point and likewise I don't expect you to do so in any manner that makes much of an impact anyway.

I'm basing my analysis on the 42-minute show, and having just gone over it with a fine-tooth comb, I know what I saw. And the communities that analyze the edit are all in agreement: it wasn't a favorable edit for Sarah. But it's better than the rest.

She's still the hands-on favorite to win. Don't worry about anything else.

It's very obvious that Sarah wins according to the edit. It's a common thing to give doubt to the winner in penultimate episodes. The difference is that the other contestants looked like crap especially Brad.

According to Michaela Sarah gave the advantage just before the tribal council so that Cirie wouldn't be able to read it. It was like a test of trust and Cirie was made to look like a total moron. It actually is very helpful for Sarah because she can now vote out Cirie without backstabbing her.

Cirie was trying to use the advantage to help Sarah stay in the game. Based on the edit, Sarah's move did not help Sarah. It ultimately did keep around due to the calamity, but the edit put Sarah entirely in the wrong.

Tai was the rat, Cirie knew this, Sarah did not. Cirie formed a plan to get rid of Tai--who was targeting Sarah--but because Sarah incorrectly trusted Tai, she turned on Cirie, her ally, who was trying to save her, and instead took out their own ally, Michaela.

The edit did not paint Sarah in a light that bolstered her play. It told us that she was incorrectly taking out an ally. But a lot of people seemingly don't get that.

Cirie is doing all she can to keep Sarah in the game by using her own advantage to take out an adversary in Tai.

This isn't rocket science.

Cirie was destroyed. Her game was destroyed. She was clearly outplayed. Aubry was getting voted out that night. Cirie tried to overplay and she sent Michaela packing.

Based on the edit, where did Sarah make Cirie look dumb? When she said "actually, that's non-transferable"? Because she knew it wasn't, but still gave it to Cirie to show her loyalty, only to then turn it around on her own ally who was trying to help her?

You can think it made Sarah look smart and Cirie look dumb, but I don't think there's any evidence to prove this point other than "I didn't really pay attention to the story, it was kinda confusing, but wow, that was badass, she duped over someone who spent the whole episode trying to help her!"

Where does it add up?

Based solely on the edit, I was calling Cirie an idiot she uttered a plan that boiled down to "I'm going to take Sarah's advantage, that she trusted me enough to give it as a sign of good faith. I'm going to USE that advantage...not to get Sarah OUT, but to get someone ELSE out to prove that Sarah can trust me." That plan was stupid from the word go. I don't care what Cirie's reasoning is. You're breaking an ally's trust, burning THEIR advantage, and then going back to camp with them to deal with the aftermath. Even if Cirie hadn't got got, I would said "Wow, that's cold-blooded!" and then immediately realized how fucked Cirie was for trying to showboat like that.

Here's something that's been on my mind - if it was non-transferable what was the point of Sarah giving it to Cirie? Theoretically it would have been dead the instant Sarah was voted out so there was no use or point whatsoever in giving it to Cirie. It's not like Ozzy giving his idol to Cochran while he was on Redemption or something like that where it would still be in play if Ozzy lost.

You're overlaying your thoughts on her strategy instead of reading what the edit is showing and saying. You might have thought it was bad but the edit didn't hint at that. It began when we saw that Tai wanted to take out Sarah, then Cirie learned this information, TOLD Sarah to her face, Sarah then said "nope I don't buy it", and so Cirie is like 'Sarah is walking into the middle of traffic and she has an advantage to stop herself from getting hit that she's giving to me'.

The edit was saying this, but in turn Sarah burned Cirie, the person trying to help her.

Sarah fucked up, though she'll still get rewarded by those uninformed. The edit painted the picture of Sarah being wrong over and over, and when she revealed her trump card it was exciting but also pretty stupid from a strategic point-of-view.

I get that many will see this event as good for Sarah because fuck the finer details (and oh the irony...), but I don't agree that those who do see it as good for her are in the right. When I first watched it I thought Sarah made a clever move against Cirie, but then I rewatched it and realized... no, wait, that was pretty stupid. Maybe the jury rewards her in the end but this is then akin to a happy accident, as Sarah did walk into the middle of traffic, stopped her friend from saving her, managed to survive the collisions anyway, and then said "See? I totally had control!"

If Sarah had a larger plan at hand, we never heard it. And so I can't attribute much else to her than this.

Man, this is the most I've cared about this season since it started...

I still remember back during the HvV SMS when Inviso managed to get Cirie into the finals and I was pretty annoyed with how it happened. Feels like a reverse after all these years where I'm now defending Cirie's honor!

I'll likely drop the argument at this point. I don't think anyone is changing their mind, one way or the other.
