padding so that they have an excuse to make sequels more overly long movies *sighhhh* the perfect length for a movie is 90 minutes there are some exceptions though like the Lord of the Rings movies which you cant really cram into 90 minutes (it'd be interesting/funny if someone tried to tho) i watched that new female Ghostbusters movie today tho and that shit most def did not need to be 116 minutes --- ... I prefer longer movies. More room to explore characters and ideas.

90 minutes should be the average, though these days it's usually 2 hours. I think 2+hours is great for good movies.
