The government could apply the funds to ensure everyone has food, shelter, and education. Since all needs are met, people won't need income and could just focus on working to better the nation until they're old enough to retire.

100% is as bad as 0% taxation but for different reasons

If you have 100% taxation, you work but the government takes all your paycheck, so how are you going to pay rent or buy food? why would you work in this scenario?

If you have 0% taxation, why would anyone work for the government if it can't stay funded? so long, government

A) this is a ridiculous system that would provide no incentive for people to work.

B) if you trust the government to properly budget, put the money to good use and not to blunder it all away you don't really follow the state of the world.

In reality taxes should be near 0% as anything important people will voluntarily pay for and anything that isn't voluntarily paid for isn't important. The government shouldn't spend money on unimportant things.

You should see it as disastrous, because the government is the biggest the employer and they also create demand for certain jobs.

Without the government a lot of people would be without jobs.

well, there were other things involved, like basically having no police, no firefighters, zero regulations of any sort (not that lots of red tape is any good either, but yeah), no infrastructure, so I'd probably stock up on canned food and ammo in that case
