Thankfully no, but I've spent my life obsessed with burglars. It probably didn't help seeing Home Alone in the theatre.

I had a Gameboy and a game stolen on a field trip (I can't remember what the game was). I didn't really care at the time because I had already completed all of the games I had and my parents refused to buy me more.

Not to mention 6 months later I got a Gameboy Pocket and a bunch of new games for Christmas, so overall it was a win.

Yes but never my a friend. I left my gameboy color, carrying case, and a few games and accessories in the yard of a private location but visible by the public. Realized and my parents went to get it later that night and it was gone.

A former friend of mine became homeless so my roommate and I let him stay at our place for 2 weeks. He ended up stealing 2 PS4 games and about $70 from us.

Yeah. I had the old NES turbo stick controller. That fucker wasn't cheap. Loaned it to a good friend of mine. Another guy saw it and told him I said it was okay for him to borrow it. Never saw it again.

Loaned my copy of Robowars to a different guy in high school. Never saw it again.

Yes. I got my wife a bunch of Sims 2 expansion packs as a holiday gift through Ebay, which I had never used before...and will never use again.
Live in an apartment w/ "cluster" mail boxes where you're assigned a box and given a key, they aren't hard-coded for Apt. 205, for example. For packages, there are larger boxes w/ keys and they'll put the key in your mail box if there's a package for you to retrieve from the larger boxes.
I'll never know for sure cause I got stone walled every step of the way till I gave up trying to investigate, but I'm pretty sure what happened was the postal worker put the key in someone else's mailbox by mistake, and whatever thief got it decided to keep it or re-sell it, b/c I never got the games. $60 down the drain and the realization I live amongst dishonest scumbag thieves. This happened like TWO YEARS ago, it wasn't like this was when Sims 2 was brand new and highly popular.

Yes, someone broke into the first apartment I ever moved out to when I was younger. Stole my desktop and a big CD case that had a shit-ton of game discs in it. Also took my damn TV.

Told that landlord to fuck off and moved out of there. Wasn't even living there more than 4 days before I got robbed. No breaking in at all either, mfers had the key.

Of course the cops didn't do squat. Not much they can do in a situation like that.

Had a Super Mario Bros. Tiger game watch when I was a kid. Left it in my desk to go wash my hands. Noticed another dude in class had it later. He said it was a gift from his grandma. ... And he was the principal's kid, so I was never getting that back.

Loaned Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Breath of Fire (both SNES) to a buddy in high school. He hocked 'em both for cigarette / weed money. Told me they both "broke". As far as I'm concerned, fuckwit still owes me $100 U.S. plus interest.

Then, at university, the maintenance guy stole Tekken 4 from my dorm room when he came in to (allegedly) fix the sink. ... Joke's on him. That game sucks (... IMO). Still. That was unpleasant.

Not stolen no but I did lend my bro a cheap Xbox 360 controller I used for PC gaming. He decided to lend it to his friend and I never got it back. Still kinda pissed. Sure the controller was cheap and I can buy another if I can be arsed but it's just the principle of it all.

Yep, and I even knew who did it, though I was never able to catch him and get the thing back. By the time I cut off all ties with him, though, I did make back the money that the thing was worth, and then some... from him even. All legal means, too.

Yeah, a childhood friend stole some games while he was at my home which I didn't realize right away. That guy was a real piece of shit in general, wouldn't be surprised if he was in prison or dead now. Come to think of it, I got ripped off quite a few times as a kid. Probably why I'm protective of my stuff today and always a little concerned about being robbed.

Yeah, plenty of times.

Back in elementary school, we had a day where we were supposed to bring one of our favorite toys and exchange it with a classmate for a week. I was paired with a guy who always played his game boy before class, so I brought a game boy game to exchange with him. He had the same idea and we just traded games with each other, when it was time to swap them back, he said he simply wanted to trade permanently, and I agreed because both games were fun. Later, he said he changed his mind and wanted his back, so we swapped again, but I didn't realize he'd given me an empty case until I got home. Afterwards he claimed it wasn't empty, and I was trying to scam him.

Then there was when I used to let my cousins borrow my games. They lived at my grandma's house and I was there everyday to help her anyway, so it just seemed like a nice thing to do. Well, they just kept asking for more games, and after they had like 10 of mine, I asked for some back before I brought new ones. Turns out they'd been taking my games and selling them behind my back. At that point I took back everything they still had that was mine. They complained for a while and I felt bad because they really didn't have much to do at home, I caved and would let them borrow only 1 at a time, and couldn't get another until I got the 1st one back.

My other grandmother wanted to buy some games from me as a birthday gift for a different cousin. She asked to take a bunch and let him pick out which ones he wanted, and she'd pay me later. So I sent a box of games I knew he liked, and just never got anything in return. She gave him the whole box as a gift and that was that.

Then another guy borrowed my Wii pro controller once, and refused to give it back. I eventually did get it back, but he was mad that he didn't get to keep it(he's a teenager). The next time he visited my place, it went missing, and his mom said he got one from somewhere but didn't know where. I'm pretty certain that little turd took it and hid it in his sister's backpack when I wasn't looking.

I used to have tons of video game magazines. My mom was hired to paint cute characters in our church's pre-school class. She asked to borrow the magazines to get ideas on how to draw cute stuff that kids would like. One night there was a youth meeting, and all the teens were asked to help finish painting it. After that all my magazines were gone. Once the walls were done, they just took the magazines for themselves.

Oh, plus I lost my Tamagotchi because the teacher confiscated it in class then he *claimed* that shit was missing from his desk. Years later, still pretty pissed about that because he let somebody else just put theirs away instead of taking it.

Had a copy of TMNT: Fall of the Foot Clan for the original Game Boy disappear. I was certain my parents took it because I left it lying out (my mom was a stickler for "I confiscate anything you don't put away"), and they insisted it was these two hooligans who lived 3 doors down from me. Never did find that game - and I still don't buy what my folks claim happened to it.

A (now ex) friend of my brother's swiped my family's laptop back around February 2001. The cops were called and we filled out a stolen goods report. Around the start of April that same year, that person's parents caught him red-handed with it and returned it to us. It was some months later that me and my brother suspected he also stole one of our PC games (Heroes of Might & Magic) because we couldn't find the game disc.

Almost kind of, when I was in High-school I lent my friend a couple of games, I ended up having to leave that school because it was expensive and when I asked for my games back he said he lost them or some shit, I wasn't having any of that and called his mother instead and she made him give them back.

Also once I sort-of accidentally took my cousins DS game when I was little, I could never give it back because our parents hate each other.
