Yale Dean, June Chu has apologized for her controversial Yelp reviews that referred to people as "white trash" and "low trash folks" after it was uncovered by outraged students!!

The Pierson College Dean posted 10 reviews of restaurants and establishments at New Haven, Connecticut from her personal account of a few years as she's slammed for her demeaning, offensive and elitist posts

She wrote in one "To put it simply, if you are white trash, this is the perfect night out for you!" and "This establishment is definitely not authentic by any stretch of the imagination and perfect for low class folks who believe this is the real night out"

In another she wrote "I guess if you were a white person who has no clue what a mochi is, this would be fine for you"

She even attacked a movie theatre and said the staff were "barely educated morons trying to manage snack orders for the obese and also try to add $7 plus 7".

The social psychologist valued "views on diversity, equity, partnerships and academic success" issued an apology and deleted her yelp account as the reviews drew backlash at Yale

She said "I have learned a lot this semester about the power of words and about the accountability that we owe one another. My remarks were wrong. There no 2 ways about it. Not only were they insensitive in matters related to class and race; they demean values to which i hold myself and which i offer as a member of this community"

Yale doesn't plan to discipline her

Adding a mention of race to an insult rather specifically turns it to a racist insult. You can call people trash, but as soon as you denote a race the comment is then racist.

They think they're so fruity and a great place to be. The school is racist for keeping her as dean.

I think she was completely tactless. If it was a review for the establishment, she should only address her concerns for the restaurant and not its clients- specifically, what SHE ASSUMES what their clients WOULD BE. It's ridiculous. Fact or no fact, she shouldn't have said those things that pertain to class or race; it was unnecessary and pointless.

Being part of the "elite" that she is, she should have known better. This was as childish as it is insensitive. Educated indeed. >____>
