-No more weapon triangle. A sword does equal damage to a lance

-Bow users can now attack 1-3 spaces, including counterattacking sword users. However, they can't auto-crit a flying unit unless they have an iron bow or higher

-Mages and Clerics now use their own HP to cast magic and can learn different spells to cast as they level up. They don't even use tomes.

-Similarly, melee fighters can learn "Arts" from equipping iron weapons or higher and can activate these arts by using some of their HP

-Inventory is now only 1 slot. You can give them a better weapon, a defensive shield, a healing item, etc. They always have a base weapon equipped unless you put a better weapon in that slot

-There are dungeons to run around in Zelda-styleish and you swing your sword at enemies to initiate a random encounter on them

-No pairing or banging in this game >_>

-You wander around villages with talk, examine, move commands, just like in Phoenix Wright lol

-There's no 1 battle per story beat like in the other games, sometimes you fight multiple battles before you get the next plot point.

-You can turn back time a few turns per battle if you made a mistake

But overall it seems pretty fun. The only major complaint that everyone is saying is that a lot of the maps are kinda stale tho. But apparently the story is pretty solid.

It is 1-4.

And that thing isn't always usable, though the issue is mostly with the dungeon part.

iirc, certain bows equipped can increase the attack range. So maybe it'll be 1-4 if you have something on them

I'm playing through it now with a couple hours in. One thing that I really like about it is that it feels cohesive. The music is splendid, the art style is finally back to fitting FE while looking quite classy, the dialogue is better, and the skirmishes feel more realistic. Yes, it's on flat areas, but the you're expected to take advantage of the terrain to gain the edge against the enemies. In contrast, Conquest had some intricate and interesting maps, but sometimes, they just didn't make any sense. Where would you find a place that houses a ton of pots with both poison and medicine in them lying around and unmarked?

And I especially like how Archers can counterattack and hit from a 3 range distance. It makes for dangerous threats. I also like Mila's Turnwheel, if you make a mistake, you can turn back time to go back to any previous turn. You can use it a limited amount of times, but it pretty much ensures that rogue critical hits won't be the death of your run.

Overall, I love what I'm playing so far and am quite hopeful it'll maintain its quality.

Cantors are so fucking annoying. They can summon 8 undead terrors around them if there's none on the map, they have high defense, high attack with 1-2 range, and fucking regen 5 HP every turn. Fuck these guys >_>
