He was jumping to conclusions there when he thought the question was talking about his death. I think the question was more about him ever wanting to finish the story, not about him dying before it's finished. It just shows that he's been listening to all the hate about him and it's getting to his head.

Not that it matters because the show is better than the books at this stage and I'd rather see the show end than the books. Those last 2 books were atrocious

I saw the full interview a while back ago, and I think this may have been cut funny, but I don't entirely remember... but I thought it was asking about his death. Could be wrong.

I'd have to agree that the show is better than the books at this point. It took a ton of effort to read through the first two books. He's a description/details god and it's not my thing. When I read books like that, it makes me want to ditch the book and pick up a video game. Got 100 pages into the 3rd GoT book and quit the series. I gave it a solid effort, I think.

I've been aware of ASOIAF series since like 2004 but never got into it because I thought it would be one of those things that never finished and low and behold here I am in 2017 waiting on the 6th book that may never exist.
