It should've ended after Shido's Palace. The whole game built him up as the big bad. He put you in probation, he got all these people killed, he tried to frame the Phantom Thieves. And when you finally beat his ass, instead of giving you the resolution to the climax, the game is like "Nah brah, something weird is happening. Let's just sit on our hands for 5 hours and then introduce "the real bad guy within the last 3% of the game", and then do a tedious dungeon for another 5 hours." They tried to emulate that thing from Persona 4 where the real bad guy was actually some weird god that was pulling the strings behind the scene. But it doesn't work here. It just drags the game out and almost leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

They should've just ended it at Shido and then immediately warped to Christmas and Valentine's to you plowing best girl Sadayo and then the ending.

If they ever release a better version of this game, I really hope they fix this >_> The pacing of the ending is all over the place and awful to an otherwise fantastic game.

I disagree, and if you play through the game again you'll see the obvious 'Golden' plot points that they will expand on in the inevitable remake. Its gonna be longer.

I'm 50 hours in and burned out. The pacing is just terrible. It's set up like a typical 3 act story but there is so much padding and filler, especially in between palaces. Still a good game though but I feel like I need a break

The biggest crime was Haru's arc.

I love the game and totally worth the 100+ hours I put in it. But damn, poor Haru.

She still felt like a stranger to the team at the end. Goro felt more like a teammate when he joined than her lmao

the final dungeon/s were fine. Wasn't really tedious at all. Shido's and the space palace were tedious.

That's why 3's final boss is still the best one so far. It had a great build up and climax. 4 and 5 just throw these gods at you at the last second and are like "Psyche! This is the last boss. Lawl"

She just doesn't do much >_> The rest of the game she kinda just is there. She basically comes out of nowhere unlike all the other party members.

I can see what you mean, she does feel tacked on and her personality is not interesting. Tbh I think persona has a hard time making interesting female characters, although that might be an anime thing. I kind of get the vibe that all of the female characters exist as potential waifus to the players and not characters with interesting personalities

honestly should've been over 15-20 hours earlier, they padded it with too much time between dungeons and too many dungeons. the pacing is legitimately just bad in this game which is why I can't say it's better than 3

imo I like Haru but it's cause she's great in battle. in terms of story yeah she isn't the best

I also can't forgive how they handled akechi

yeah for no reason at all they tack on an extra dungeon and a sudden god who is actually the mastermind

at least in persona 3 it was integrated into the story and made sense

I did not like the last story bits either. Shido would have been fine as the final boss.
