Yep. I've stayed in people's houses and had people stay in mine. It's normally very safe and secure.
I did get scammed in California once, chick stole the $200 and never let me into their house. After contacting airbnb, they refunded my money, plus an extra $150 credit and then banned her account. Some of the people you stay with get real pissy when you get drunk and tip over their oven and kick 3 holes in the wall. It's like, don't put up this place on Airbnb when you know someone like me is going to come along. Gosh.
