Cincinnati Bell is a fantastic company to work for. They're doing some aggressive expansion with fiber optics and are looking for new employees. It's a union job so, it's more difficult for the company to shit on you.

I don't live there anymore, but I worked there for 2 years. It's hard shitty work, but it pays well. Ballpark about $50k. You can make more if you're willing to dedicate a lot of OT. Some guys make close to $100k, but they work every day and work late every day.

I live about an hour away. Cincinnati isn't bad. Between Amazon, UPS, etc there are almost always warehouse job openings in northern Kentucky by the airport. Spectrum (used to be time warner cable) also seems to hire pretty frequently.

Thanks for the info. One quick thing though, I was looking for more of a general analysis in the overall economy TBH. I'm not looking to move there or work there, this is purely a business related question. Yes I'm doing other more official research in regards to the economy but just wanted to hear some anecdotal information.

It's a city, so, work isn't just horribly difficult to come by. I worked at DirecTV for a year, then I went to Cincinnati Bell. DirecTV is the worst job I've ever had in my life, Cincinnati Bell was much better, but still pretty shitty as far as the actual work went, but it paid well. So, it was tolerable for two years.
