I <3 S6, but eh. Shrug. :P As for the trailer, I don't think it is very well-produced, yeah. But it's only the first of what are generally two or three big trailers per hype season, so there may well be a cooler one to come.

Eh. I am in favor of Jon x Dany versus White Walkers. I don't mind it being cliched in concept. The actors and the writing quality can make the execution everything I want out of the ending.

And if they throw curve balls at us instead? I'm cool with that, too.

I'm seeing a lot of praise for the trailer. I'm a bit surprised. The scenes themselves all look great IMP, bit the trailer direction itself is fairly whatever.

Then again, I'm of the opinion that this is the case with at least one trailer every season, whilst there's at least one truly memorable trailer as well. I think we just haven't seen that one yet. That most folks on social media are thrilled with this first one is just indicative of the power of seeing new Thrones footage of any kind, in any order, haha.

RE: everyone vs the White Walkers - I can't help but think that the 'game of thrones' has ended on a macro scale. I don't really see the show going for intrigue. The latest seasons have mostly been about massive battles, with manipulations happening on a much more micro scale. (The 'coups' in Dorne and Winterfell that really go nowhere, Margaery trying something that goes absolutely nowhere, Euron being elected King... this is too depressing to continue.)

At this point, I've been reading some Reddit reactions in the non-filming-spoiler thread, but I'm guessing that based on the number of people calling Casterly Rock that it's semi-confirmed. That would be an instance of some politicking (or at least personal agendas) mattering on a bigger scale, since it would split Dany's massive coalition.

I wonder how many battles we're going to see in S7-part-1. We have people north of the Wall, though I have no clue what that means. I think if we get 4-7 battles this season as the blistering pace promises, then it can definitely make up for the lack of character drama. I can count the Siege of King's Landing and the open field battle with the dragons flying over it. People are predicting Casterly Rock as I mentioned above. And finally, there might be seafood soup - the shot of Theon in an inferno (and the later shot of burning ships) seems to confirm that. This could be pretty solid in terms of action driving narrative.

@SeabassDebeste I don't think it's s matter of people predicting Casterly Rock. The battle is in the trailer. That's not King's Landing we're seeing during the fight.
