I really don't care.

Alamo just likes generating buzz though. But it's not like you can't catch a regular showing if you wanted to.

Fuck, I reeeeeeally hate being a guy sometimes. Like, it's one showing, who gives a shit.

It's a female protag that's primarily written for a female audience, so yeah, it's a good idea.

Also, Lol at that entourage clap back!

I don't know if it's the same article I read, but the guys quoted in that article weren't really "freaking out" or anything. They were just trying to highlight a double standard that exists (there wouldn't be a "men's only" viewing of Terminator) and that the original creators of Wonder Women probably never wanted special exclusive viewings and stuff like that. All rather reasonable stuff.

This.

I guess for Black Panther we should have "black only" screenings and for Thor Ragnarok we should have "men only" screenings too.

Jesus Christ this feminist nonsense is permeating every facet of our culture.

WHY is this even necessary in the first place?

This counts as freaking out. Alamo Drafthouse has special viewings for veterans and other groups and no one complains about it. Anyone that has even the slightest problem with a theater having one special viewing time for a particular group is someone who needs a safespace and a pacifier.

I don't know, I can't really imagine anyone batting an eye if they did a men-only private showing for something like, for example, 300 back when that came out. It's just a novelty thing really. And IIRC the creator of Wonder Woman was just some pervert trying to sneak BDSM themes into comics

Anyone can be a veteran, though, and no one really sees military discounts/benefits as being discriminatory in nature.
Also I can guarantee that for "veteran only" viewings, they're letting family in.

With the way SJW identity politics and feminism and fake outrage have exploded there definitely would be. Picket signs and pink hats all over the place for sure.

"Jesus Christ this feminist nonsense is permeating every aspect of our culture" as a response to a theater having one or two showtimes on one day specifically for women is you freaking out. There's no other way to define it. And if they ever have a men-only screening of a film and feminists say the same thing you just said, I'd say they were freaking out too.

I've addressed the things you've said and pointed out how ridiculous you were being. But other than that, nothing you've said has much value at all:

1. I guess for Black Panther we should have "black only" screenings and for Thor Ragnarok we should have "men only" screenings too. Ok. Fine. I wouldn't have a problem with that (which I already said). One or two special screenings is not a big deal, especially when the theater has multiple screens and multiple showings of each film.

2. WHY is this even necessary in the first place? Alamo Drafthouse already explained this and it's been covered in the topics about it. On one hand, it's a celebration of a rare female superhero who got her own movie. On the other hand it's a publicity stunt designed to get people talking about the film and the theater. They're succeeding on both fronts it seems.

3. With the way SJW identity politics and feminism and fake outrage have exploded there definitely would be (outrage over men's only screenings). Picket signs and pink hats all over the place for sure. I already addressed this as A. not being likely, and B. if it were to happen, I'd say those feminists were just as ridiculous as you are. Also, it's just speculation on both of our parts, so there's nothing really deep to be said about it.

4. Typical liberal SJW tactic. Silence opposing viewpoints! Anyone who feels like they can speak their opinion needs to shut up! You freaking out. Already covered it.

So what exactly have you said in this topic that was worth discussing that I haven't covered, manic boy?

This definitely doesn't pass the "straight white male" test.

When something like this comes up, you have to ask yourself "Would people completely lose their **** if a straight white male did this?" If the answer is yes, then it's probably racist/sexist/whatever.

We've all gotta make this world work together. It's not Minorities and The Enemy. It's people. Schools wanting classrooms for ethnic minorities only, or a studio offering women only screenings, it's just dumb bullshit which is about as stupid as what it pretends to be opposing.

It's not even close to that. The entire theater isn't "women-only." It's one showing of one movie on one day on one screen. If you want to compare it to a restaurant, say they had a "men only" dining room on one specific day in a restaurant that already has several dining halls, and no one would give a baker's fuck about htat.
