My vote goes to The Flood from Halo. Crazy space undead Zerg; not only are they reinforced by every one of your dead, but their knowledge is added to a hive mind.
A small outbreak kills soldiers, learns to use their weapons, spreads to civilian population centers, massively bolsters its numbers, takes civilian craft, uses sheer numbers to suicide charge and board military warships, learns from their dead crews how to pilot, fight, and maintain them, and then it spreads everywhere unstoppably through space. It took the Halo Array, the ultimate suicide attack, to stop them.
