It's pretty decent, when plugged into a power source it'll take anything thrown at it. Similar specs to mine (only I've got a 960m in mine which is significantly weaker than that) and I can run more or less everything on high at least.

I've found gaming laptops don't run beastly games so great when running off the battery, unless you disable all power-saver settings which will give you a twenty minute battery life.

It has a 1070 which should do a pretty good job pushing that 1080p display, but it is weird that they limited it to 8GB of RAM (though at least you can upgrade later).

You should be able to find a laptop with a 1080 for that price.

Also look for a better screen, 1080@60fps for a Pascal is a waste.

The storage and RAM are also subpar for the price.

You pay a premium for performance, they aren't generally upgradeable and the ones that are have really expensive upgrade, they cost more to fix and do not handle heat well.

Dont settle for less than a gtx 1070.
I play black desert online max settings for hours at a time on it PLUS AFK when i dont play it. Its beast. The 1080 version changed the look of the laptop. I wanted the sleeker appearance.

This gaming laptop is the eluktronics pro-x edition. I bought a 256 ssd 16 gb RAM 1070 gaming laptop earlier this year in amazon. It was under $1800 with free shipping. I use it with an amazon laptop stand so i can play it without worry fan cooling. It does get hot after 4 hours. Afterall, it is a 1070 there. I expected it to be.

Its windows 10. Nothing else loaded in the laptop. Its nice nothing else is bundled in regards to software with it.

I expect other gaming laptops to be around this price. Some have more ssd capacity. Nice thing is the pro x gaming laptop has expansion bay for anothed ssd.

It has an hdmi port. I plan to dock it on its stand. Another keyboard and mouse with my steam controller. Its a gaming laptop i take everywhere now, game on a hdmi tv.

I noticed the .com.au so i expect ya to be shipping internationally. Not sure if theyll charge more. I doubt it but you never know. The packaging was good enough for long distance. They promptly ship my order. Talk with them about it if you need to. I am sure they will sort everything.

I have one with similar specs and yeah it will chew through most things at max 120fps since that's what my screen displays.

But like the others say you can get alot more power for your dollar with a desktop and you don't have to worry about being stuck to a desk on most games. A majority of games will have controller support out of the box especially if they are on console to. But I also don't know the prices in Australia and know they are more then the US.

The 1070 is completely overkill for 1080p. You can find one with a 1060m that'll run modern games more than adequately for a much lower price.

Don't buy a gaming laptop, you get way more bang for your buck if you just go with a desktop PC.

That said, you're probably gonna ignore everyone's dissenting advice against gaming laptops anyway, so just buy it if you're that set on it.

I have a tv, ps4 and a xbox and very limited room. A Laptop would be convenient plus i can take it interstate.

I dont drive either and im not carrying a pc on a bus

I love my gaming laptop. If you have a console already you can save alot of money.

I hate the PC Master race community. Both have their purpose. I use my xbox for the latest games and multiplayer while I use my laptop for PC exclusives like Civ, Skyrim with mods (Special Edition is not as good), and other shit.

That said, unless you plan on running the absolute most difficult games to run, you can get a max quality laptop for way cheaper.

Edit. Oh and I did not want a PC either, too much space so I bought a laptop so I can play Skyrim in bed :3

Thats what i was thinking, this way is safer and easier plus $800 off is crazy.

American sites are far cheaper but when you add conversion plus a month of truck/ ship travel id rather just go local.

Admittedly, gaming laptops are much more viable now than ever before. For one thing CPUs are becoming less and less important for gaming, so unless you're only playing big open world stuff, your current gen laptop processor should be just fine for a few years at least. And then there's also the fact that graphics card efficiency has reached the point where there's practically no difference between a GTX 10 series desktop and laptop chip, they both perform more or less the same and they're pretty damn powerful too.

So yeah, the main con to gaming laptops right now is the cost, but if you can afford it then by all means buy one

the concept of paying extra money for a luxury is considered taboo, hence any topic about paying more than 10$ for a pair of jeans or getting a phone more expensive than 200$ gets a lot of nerd rage.
