7 Plus.

Galaxy S8 has a bunch of nice features, but ultimately most of them are novelty and despite having the technically better processor the 7 Plus still beat it in speed tests handily.

I wish HTC could get their shit together so that there would be more of a challenge

I just realized the normal S8 is just slightly bigger than the iPhone 7 but has a larger screen than the 7 plus. And the S8 Plus is smaller than the iPhone 7 Plus but has a vastly larger screen

Since money is no object it should be simple enough to use your unlimited funds to systematically destroy every other smart phone leaving you with the last and therefore best smartphone by default.

iPhone used to steamroll Android phones in camera performance. It really wasn't until the Galaxy S6 that anyone even matched Apple.

Also I wonder why the S8+ is wrecking the normal S8 in the polls. I would've figured the S8 did the better job of balancing screen to size. I heard the battery life is better, but that's usually the case for "plus" phones.

This so much. Fuck LG. The bootlooping survived the N5X, G4, V10, G5 and V20. I have no faith the LG G6 won't fuck up in a year like that.

So glad they're getting sued. Hopefully I get a nice payout for the 25 or so of the affected phones I owned.

Keyboard was handy back then, though. Because Android onscreen keyboards were garbage.

can't believe so many people like Samsung phones, they load so much shitty bloatware onto the OS it's awful. i had an S4 for a while and really liked it, but after getting a Nexus 6P and realizing how much shit Samsung installs, and how long it takes them to vet updates, I won't buy from them as long as they do that.

Really? I thought they have been uncharacteristically reserved with TouchWiz on the S6.

I actually think the S8's Nougat skin is nicer and more streamlined than Google's.

Right now I have an iPhone 7, which I think is great besides the lack of a headphone jack.

stupid anecdote:

yesterday i wanted to check some photos on my old smartphones, so i turned on my iPhone 5S and Galaxy S6 Edge (after plugging them in and charging them a bit because they were both dead).

the iPhone booted up very quickly, I got hit with a bunch of notifications, and then within like 2 or 3 minutes I was able to navigate the phone quickly and get to what I needed to do.

the S6 took a solid 15 minutes to boot up and be usable, and even then it was so slow that there was like a 1 or 2 second delay from when I clicked on shit and when it actually opened. I got hit with notifications too but it took forever for a lot to come through and half my apps wouldn't even work, just crashing upon opening (when I tried playing with the phone). What's even funnier is that I had the S6 plugged into the Samsung quick charger, and it actually lost a significant amount of battery life while I was trying to access it, even while charging lol.

I get that all smartphones are supposed to be disposable (which is fucking stupid, but that's a different conversation), but I don't get how so many people tolerate Android phones when they age so poorly, get so bogged down, get fucked up with updates so frequently etc

i don't just mean the skin, or the launcher, but other things like anti-virus software, their own messaging app, their own settings app, their own phone app, etc. and THEN there are all the carrier-specific apps, too, ugh.

here's a quick guide showing all the extra stuff they add

apparently they did get better about this stuff with the S8, but i haven't used one so im ignorant

I'm literally using an S6 Edge Plus right now and it basically feels brand new. Just got updated to 7.0 as well, which dramatically improved battery life.

IIRC they let you completely disable all of their stock apps and use Google's instead.
I think the only reason Samsung still has their own apps is to unify the ecosystem around the Themes Store
