I finished Ace Attorney at around Christmas time and finished Justice For All the other day. I just finished the first case of Trials & Tribulations. Loved the first game. Second was pretty good but some of the cases were kinda dumb (The circus one in particular I thought was kinda farfetched. Maybe it was just the way they explained some of the reveals for how the crime was carried out.)

I'm playing the first 3 via the 3DS trilogy. After this I'll probably buy Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice. I also really want to get the Layton/Wright crossover since I love the Layton games too. Also curious if the Edgeworth game and Apollo Justice are worth tracking down a copy of.

I loved Spirit of Justice. It was really superb (except for case 4, which had its moments I guess. I won't spoil them though.)

I liked the first case of Trials & Tribulations and thought the crime was well thought out. I thought Phoenix himself seemed really out of character though. I get that it's well before the events of the other games, but I just have a hard time believing studying to be a lawyer could have changed his personality THAT much.

Unless this gets explained more later in the game or something.

the edgeworth game, definitely.

apollo justice is the weakest game in the series for me. still worth playing once though, just because of the backstory it gives for the latest games.

It's not really a part of the series, but you owe it to yourself to track down a copy of ghost trick.

The first three games kind of blended together for me and it's been ~8 years since I played them, so I don't remember which was my favorite. The whole trilogy was fantastic though.

The Edgeworth games make you walk around crime scenes, which can get tedious if you're missing something. Apollo Justice plays like Phoenix Wright with minor changes, but the story was weird imo. They're still very much worth playing though. Haven't gotten to the two 3DS PW ganes yet.

I really loved that one, even though I never cared for the Layton games. The story, characters, and setting were all great and were unlike anything else in the Ace Attorney series.

There's a special place for Layton x wright for me but that's mainly because it's the only game that I went in with shit expectation thus the only game that blew my expectations out of the water.
Anyway they're all amazing in their own way except for 4 which is mediocre but AAI is really just a long prequel to AAI2 which is superior in every way.
You might want to think about getting Ghost Trick too
