I enjoy EC's history videos; I would still never trust them to be a reliable source. I believe they've openly stated that they often stretch the truth for the sake of telling a better story, which is fair, but discredits them slightly for anything other than entertainment purposes.

Extra Credits is a joke and anyone who takes anything he says serious shouldn't be legally allowed to own anything sharper than a crayon for their own safety

Yeah, they admit despite the idea being outdated, they follow the "Great Man" theory of history because it makes for a better story. Their Lies segments are when they reveal all the things they may have fudged for drama and all the interesting real life things they didn't/couldn't include.

They're good for a "narrative version" of history, but aren't something you can rely on for actual research.
