I drive in traffic every day and it gets on my nerves when people tailgate when we're not moving at all.

What are your thoughts and what do you do when you encounter one?

If I'm in a residential area, I just take my foot off the gas and wait for them to get fed up and pass me. I don't do it out of anger but for the safety of me and my passengers. Brake checking is a no for me

I slow down. If they were real assholes and speeding, I'll block other lanes to stop them from speeding and getting the message across.

Brake checking is such an inherently stupid concept that's potentially dangerous for all involved

Normally I'm the one speeding so if anyone is riding that close to me I'll just let them pass.

I'll change lanes for them but I do it very slowly. If there's no traffic then I just let off the gas. They can pass whenever they want

I've thought about brake checking but then I think about how they'll probably be even more reckless and pissed off so I just give em a fuck you by going the speed limit.

Generally if it's a two lane hwy I'll move over long before they have a chance to tailgate.

On a country road I'll signal right and pull to the shoulder to let them pass.

If it's a one lane road well too damn bad. I'm not gonna teach anyone a lesson by risking my car.

I check my speed and if I'm going an acceptable speed I just keep doing my thing. They wanna be salty little bitches then they can do that. I'm not gonna be bothered unless they actually run into me.

It all depends on the stars' alignment. Seriously, though, it depends.

If I'm going too slowly, I'll speed up. I usually ignore people but when I was younger, I would slow down or something. Maybe turn without a signal or speed up when they try to pass me.

Okay, I guess I still do sometimes, but I never SLAM on my breaks. I will break check you, etc, though.

Has ANYBODY here EVER seen a cop ticket somebody for this?? It's fucking aggressive driving.

Here's what I used to do. Some cars have a tab on the bottom of the rear view mirror that angle the mirror up, but still keeps the same view. Pull the tab up and people who are riding your ass will get blinded by their own headlights.

I generally give a little extra space in front of me so I don't have to brake suddenly, and then I follow the speed limit to a T until they pass me.

Depends. Usually I'll move out the way because I'm not going to risk my life just to make a point to some asshole. But occasionally I'll do the gradual slow down if they're really annoying and it's not the highway at 100km/h we're talking about.

When ive got a tailgater I try to follow all the rules of the road to the letter.

That means if I'm in the left lane on the highway, I move to the right so they can pass. otherwise I just do the speed limit and if they are assholes turning on their brights I just flip my review mirror so I can't see them.
