I tried playing a PS1 game on my 4K TV just for kicks.

The thing looks like shit. We're talking about huge pixel messes, it almost looks like minecraft's grandfather.

I tried changing the aspect ratio to no avail. Is there a way I can make PS1 games look less bad on my tv, more like how the games would look in an old tv from the 90s?

Not that I know of. You'd need an SD tv for it to look passable. Surely, the games you're trying to play can be purchased on the PS4?

Ah I see. You could probably get a tv from a Goodwill or other thrift store for cheap. I'm not sure of any aspect ratio that would make it playable on a 4K

Perhaps. I think those could work.

Someone should make an SD converter or something.

Viewing distance might help a little. Make sure you're sitting as far back as you possibly can. Other than that? Search yard sales for a CRT TV?
