What Remains of Edith Finch was a stupid decision. The PotD submitter had obviously thought it was great, but nobody will give it GOTY. The poll in general is terrible. It's the Hipster Indie Gamer option. Games in that sort of category have gotten tons of praise before, and What Remains of Edith Finch HAS gotten the usual "ooohs" and "aaahs" of the indie crowd. It's not really that counter-intuitive to put it there. If anything, putting ME:A there would be kind of counter-intuitive, because if it WAS there, it would easily be the #1 game on the list in terms of prior vitrolic backlash.
