Wasn't it announced to be cheaper before? Also Splatoon is launching this year still, isn't it? Are they just... not going to have online multiplayer for a game that relies on it for 90% of its substance? >_>

Online play is free on the switch until this launches.

So splatoon will have free online play for the rest of the year.

That's pretty cool! I'm probably going to nab a Switch over the summer so hopefully I can just completely burn myself out on Splatoon and not worry about paying for this at all.

To be fair I played the hell out of SMB3's "Mario Bros" remake with friends back in the day. We invented a subgame called "Koopa Tennis" where we kicked the shell back and forth the wrap-around while trying to dodhe enemies. It was hella fun.

Also, this service sounds terrible. The online for the Switch is pretty bad, I bet the Classic Games are going to be underwhelming, and the voice chat is probably going to be very limited like it always is in Nintendo games (and if you have to use your phone why not just use Discord?). Not hyped.
