So far I am enjoying the game but at times it lacks a certain agency to it. I feel like the open world aspect is great at times, but can be a bit daunting during other moments.

Also I have been trying to play this game like I was playing OoT back in the day. So I very rarely will look things up unless I have to. Only had to do it maybe 3x so far. I've also died more times than Sean Bean as well. Sometimes due rushing into battle like a group SJWs and other times due to running out of ammo or weapons.

The puzzles aren't really that hard either, just kind of so so compared to the original puzzles. Hopefully they make them tougher next time. I also need to get more guardian parts to see if I can make Boss armor with them.

I don't think that "agency" is quite the right word... the player has more agency in this game than most. If you mean that there's a lack of propulsion inspired by the narrative, I'd agree with that.

I don't feel like the game is really pushing me towards defeating Gannon. I do enjoy going to new places on the map and climbing Ubisoft towers, and using the Sheiklah to look for new things to explore. But after the great plateau it acted like Gannon was on the brink of destroying the world, yet here I am gliding around and cooking random fruits and hunting for shits and giggles. Also how did the eat or use the glider if he was a ghost?

Aren't most Zelda games like that? The plot in each game reiterates time and time again that Ganon is about to destroy Hyrule (especially near the end), and yet there's nothing stopping you from taking your sweet ass time to fish or take pictures or derp around.

I think that BotW is noticeably more hands-off (btw, for me that's not a flaw). At the other extreme end you have Majora's Mask, which feels like it's constantly breathing down your back. You have infinite time to explore the world of Termina too, but it doesn't feel like it.

BotW doesn't really place much pressure on the player and the tone is extremely laid-back. Other Zelda games fall on a spectrum between BotW and MM.

Zelda has held back Ganon for 100 years. I'm sure a few more weeks or however long it takes Link to gather his power isn't unrealistic. Plus, it's sort of implied that on top of the obvious perks of freeing the divine beasts, when you free them, you're also weakening Ganon.

The game's sole goal was never just Ganon but going through the process of weakening him
