This list looks incredibly similar to mine.

I struggled most remembering the ones that didn't have evolutions. Mr mime, jynx, khangaskhan

And I forgot abra kadabra alakazam until the last second, those three would have helped my score a little bit.

This also is harder on the phone than on the computer so I get a handicap

That's pretty much what I did when I tried this a while back. It seems like it's not going to be too hard then you're re entering names over and over and just think fuck it.

I got 131/151, which is 86%

I froze right in the last two minutes and started to struggle -- forgetting some common ones -- at maybe the 7 or 8 minute mark.



It's annoying because Horsea and Seadra I was looking at just today. Snorlax is a super-common Pokemon I've mained in a lot of games and, I should add, I also nearly forgot Magikarp and Gyarados. Likewise, Cubone, Marowak, Voltorb, and Electrode are all really common Pokemon which I encounter frequently in the games and I have used Cubone. Ditto for Aerodactyl, which I raised a half-decent one in RBY.

In the case of Exeggecute, it was merely a matter of not being able to spell the damn name.

In general, the only two absolute misses were Mr. Mime -- which I encountered a bunch of in-game (and he's got a role in the cartoon), but forgot he was a thing -- and Porygon. Porygon I've used his evo but, in general, he's naturally obscure.

The big issue is the way I tried to remember them after the early ones. I knew that there were 4 trade-evo lines and I got Geo & Abra right away, Machop a bit later, then struggled on Poly. Gyms helped me out with others. Random water Pokemon got me a bunch. Then, of course, you have a lot of paired Pokemon such as Magmar, Electabuzz and Jynx; Bellsprout and Oddish; etc. The ones that killed me are things that didn't link to anything and, of course, I was helped out with Tangela from that other topic.

I've done this twice over a few days and haven't been able to get all of them, though I can get around 130. The ones I've missed both times are

Mankey line
Poliwag line
Krabby line
Meowth line (I don't know why I keep missing these since I know that a Meowth is part of Team Rocket on the cartoon, though I've never watched it)

So I guess these are my personal most forgettable Gen I Pokémon.

Back in the day I had them all memorized in Pokedex order. I tried going in order this time and got up to about 35 before drawing a blank.

But at least I still know the Pokerap.
