I mean they didn't have tissues or even paper. Plus they probably didn't even have any idea what was going on or why their head was suddenly filled with gross stuff.

I wonder if they just used like leaves or whatever else they could find or they they just blew their noses into the air and let it all hang down nasty style

Imagine having headaches back then.

I usually suffer from headaches at least once every week or if I'm lucky every other week or so.
I would've probably lost my mind long ago if it weren't for any kind of pain relief.

Imagine having headaches back then.

They'd probably enlist their local shaman (or whatever passed for a shaman) for help. One of the treatments was that he'd hammer a hole into their heads in order for them to bleed and "release the demons residing within". Although IMO I imagine that'd make the headache 10 times worse.

According to researchers, some people surprisingly survived that.

They used live mammoths.
