I have been approved!
Got the $890 apt thats only 5 miles from my work (right now I drive 26.2 miles).
Finally moving out of my parents house at 32.

Lots of desicions to make.

Would a collection of record and/or videogames be a turn off if I wanted to bring a girl over from a date? (been into collecting records lately)

I know theres no way Im bringing all my videogames (genesis 120+, n64, ps1/2, xbox360, ps4.....genesis and ps2 and 4 are definites probably)

most everybody I know who has video games, girls aren't going to freak out over a PlayStation and some games. But, yes, that amount you have would be too much.

Just leave most with your parents and swap stuff out when you visit. That's what I do.

Meh I have a little bookshelf for video games and I think it looks just as nice as my real bookshelfs full of nice textbooks. Records are also cool for sure.

890 does that include electricity and water garbage? If really only make 33k a year im assuming you take home about 1800-2000 a month?

Girls aren't turned off by huge games collections, as long as your apartment looks like an adult lives there and not a 12 year old boy you'll be fine.

This is the biggest problem in my relationship tbh. I fundamentally just can't spend as much the with my girl as she wants me to because I would go crazy. I need to spend a lot of time alone to just let my mind clear and she just straight up doesn't understand it.

I get her criticism of it, but that doesn't make it any easier to deal with.

Yeah, before my $2 raise I was making around 37k, and I still don't think that would have been enough for me to move out into a apartment that costs that much. Not to mention that I'm also going to have to deal with my city's absurd auto insurance rates.

Yea it could be rough for a bit for me, but I'm at an age where I need it to happen.

There was a place that had a waiting list til october that was $799, but had a max income of 34k, I'm guessing that after that I'd have to get a different apartment. (also it was further away) My car is paid off luckily and I don't have any loans or stuff.

I had a lot of college friends do the same. They ended up moving back with their parents after a year or two because their job dried up and rent+other costs put them in debt.
