I think it has a little bit of a cult following in that it's not necessarily a bad game, but the only console release it had was on Wii U, where it wasn't able to really sell well. It's living off of the Pokemon name I think since only Pokemon fans seem to take it seriously. Personally I was never interested in the game because the roster seemed really small to me, coming off of the heels of games like Smash, SF4, and MvC3 which all had double, even triple the number of playable characters in it.
