I'm continuing my animated movie marathon with my niece, and today we're watching Anastasia.

So the main guy gives her a dress. And when she puts t on, her hair suddenly gets down to his lower back when before it was in a ponytail, but still very clearly short.

iirc, she had her hair banded into a ponytail which she wrapped upon itself under her hat. There would have been a lot of hair there although it's possible she used hair extensions =p

Gonna be honest that always bugged me as well. I just choose to ignore it or pretend her hair was wrapped up a bit with the pony tail, but all let down at that scene.
