Power is out in my entire city. I caught on camera the moment when the power started to cut. A sign on my street blew away.

Worse yet is that it's hot as hell and now my AC is off. I'd open a window but the winds might catch the windows like a sail and rip them clean off.

The street in front of my apartment is just constant traffic now though (usually very quiet at this time), I'm assuming people are being dismissed from night shifts and going home.

The only storm I saw that looked bad was off the coast of NY.

Here too. But it looks like we only caught the edge of it as its calmed down a lot. It was pretty intense about half an hour ago for a bit though. We lost power a couple times for a little bit. Still getting tons of lightning and thunder though.

There are unconfirmed reports that a tornado has touched down within city limits by the baseball diamonds. It got really bad for a few minutes.

I'm in complete darkness but my street looks clear from what I can pick out when people drive by. A friend of mine has confirmed that her tree in her front yard has been ripped out of the ground.

I drove through it on the way home. I went into and then out of it while driving down sarcee. I didn't know it could rain that hard. we had to go like 30kph in an 80 zone, and it still felt like we were gonna die. couldn't see anything but water. it was SO much water, it was like having a fire hose spraying straight into your windshield.

Power just clicked back on but I'd bet it will get knocked out again. It's still storming hard.

The baseball diamonds are a mess apparently. I have another friend who lives across a field from them and claimed he heard an absolutely horrificly loud noise for a full 30 seconds. Lots of damage.

My street looks good. Some branches everywhere but not too bad.

It has been confirmed that a semi was flipped over just east of the city, not particularly far from the baseball diamonds.

Because I'm on PotD. Almost every Canadian I meet online, regardless of where, lives in Alberta.

I'm pretty sure me talking to them changes history itself so that they are Albertans.

But I thought Alberta was like the most boring province that had nothing to do. Actually, that might explain why there are a lot of internet people there.


And actually actually, all the provinces in the northern half are probably much more boring. I kinda want to go to one of them just to see what it's like. I remember when we were learning about Canada in school and looking at the Yukon Territory on a map like "wtf is this"

Yeah, Alberta sucks. Everything is so spread out that if you want to do anything you need to drive for half an hour. If whatever you want to do is even available, because why would you set up something that only a few people are within driving distance of when you can just go to one of the big cities like Calgary or Edmonton, or even another province.

Power was out here for about an hour from about 8:30 to 9:30

The storm has calmed down almost completely here. Forecast says it'll back in a little for about 2 more hours here. I was able to go out and put my sister's flowers somewhere where the would be sheltered by the rain and wind. Unfortunately it looks like one of them got killed by the wind because it wasn't in as good as a spot as the others though.

Found one of the cats while I was out there though. He's so thankful for it. Sitting on my lap and purring. He normally hates sitting on my lap.
