Legitimately the first time I cried after finishing a TV series, heavy stuff.

Hannah was such a poorly written character that it's hard for me to feel emotional. Her mom's reaction is what hit me the hardest. Not to the point of tears though.

Had they left out Hannah being such a vindictive person and blaming anyone for "doing it to her" aside from Bryce, I would've felt worse for her.

Make sure to watch the making of commentary afterwards. It really sheds more light on the decisions that they made in the show.

I still have mixed feelings about it, but overall I'm glad it exists. I do understand the arguments saying that it is just a revenge fantasy though. It's a very tough subject to tackle.

That was the catalyst for everything that happened on the show though

I understand that, but it's hard to be sympathetic when a person says "I'm killing myself to PUNISH you guys. it's YOUR fault"

no. Aside from Bryce, no one did anything really worthy of taking her own life to escape it. They were mostly all pricks, yeah, but it was typical high school shit.

either way though, it just isn't a fair thing to do to people. that's something that will hang over their lives and, hell, could even push them theirselves over the edge with guilt. again aside from the spoiler'd character, she's honestly worse than most of the characters because of this.

let alone not leaving a note for her poor parents.
