Theres a learning curve to it. Takes time. Put your old controller away. Use the steam controller.

Once you figure it out, its pretty good at what it does. I think its a great controller with the stuff it can do.

Example, use it on laptop or game on tv.

For the shit it does good, Mouse and Keyboard is better

For the shit it does bad, Xbox 360/Xbox One controller is better

There really is no reason for it. If you're gaming on a PC, you should have a keyboard and mouse anyways. If you're gaming on a laptop then all I can say is

You can use most controllers these days on laptop/gaming system.

And for that you should get an Xbox 360 controller IMO

I'm saying the only pro's the Steam Controller has over any other controller is that it does mouse and keyboard stuff a little better, but not to the point that it would replace a mouse and keyboard.

There's really no real use for it outside of novelty. I mean if someone likes it and wants to use it, cool whatever. But people that act like it's the be all end all input device are crazy IMO.

None. It's by no means terrible, but for games that pretty much require a controller, an Xbox controller works just fine.

Otherwise, just use mouse and keyboard.

Unless you built a game specifically with the Steam controller in mind, I can't imagine any situation where it would even come close to the 360 controller.

My steam controller has totally replaced my 360. It's better in every way.
