Republicans have a more reliable voting base than Democrats and Republicans are far more known for gerrymandering and taking steps to preventing groups of people from voting. Republicans won't just die out from Trump.

Bush, Obama, and Trump are nothing alike. Bush and Obama didn't make open racist comments and threaten violence against everyone that opposed them. Republicans acted like Trump was the saving grace of politics and he's probably the worst thing that could have happened.

And to have a Republican controlled Congress for almost all of Obama's terms, he accomplished quite a bit. In order to actually do anything, you have to have all three branches of government.

Nasa research impacts civilian life with the technology going to the consumer market. And all things considered it's a tiny bit of the budget. Also since it's under the navy, it's military spending so everyone wins.
