I kinda wanna ask them if it's okay to film the procedure.

I love watching medical surgeries and stuff like that on youtube. Seeing myself unconscious and watching them get all up in my mouth meat sounds trippy and fun as hell.

Oh and AMA I guess.

Yeah, my lower jaw is so crowded that two premolars are sitting outside the normal gumline.

And my upper jaw is just as equally fucked up. My right canine tooth is so high up that I can feel the root if I press down right by my nostril. Also, the entire line has shifted to the right, so I only have three incisors showing instead of four. The fourth one is hiding BEHIND the canine.

I'd post pics but I'm not sure if they're allowed.

In Korea they only give you a local so you get to feel and watch a dentist wrench teeth out of your face. It's really something.

Welp. Surgery's done. I'm a bit disappointed I didn't go on any rambling rants after cominlg off the genral anaesthesia. I was perfectly fine and conscoious after it, although a bit drowsy. :/

Still haven't hit the swelling part though. That's gonna bw fun I bet

Ugh. I love meat, and I don't really like sweets so the next few days are gonna SUCK. Nothing but applesauce and soups; but hey at least I got ice cream and yogurt for dessert.

Yoghurt and ice cream?I had some teeth removed last week, and they told me to avoid protein ,since it can cover the wounds and make the healing process a bit slower.
Also no caffeine and alcohol due to diffrent reasons.

I had mashed bananas, berries and other fruits as well as soft bread for a few days.

Yeah, just for today though. Supposedly the coolness will help keep the swelling down.

Different doctors use different stuff.

When I had mine out (five at once - yes, I had five wisdom teeth), they gave me something that basically left me conscious but which erased my entire awareness of and memory of the process afterwards, but a friend of mine went to a different surgeon and they gave him the straight up knock-out drugs.

Pretty sure they didn't tell me that, because I basically subsisted on meal replacement shakes and soft peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the first week or so after I had mine out.

The main thing they emphasized for me was using the syringe they gave me to constantly wash out my holes with a saline solution after the stitches came out to avoid getting dry socket.

They might give you one when you get the stitches out.

My one friend and I both had our teeth out around the same time, and we both had one. Though again, it could be a "different doctors" sort of situation.

The one I got looked like this:

They didn't tell me to come back for stitches removal so I'm guessing they used the kind that dissolves for mine.

Though I did get a syringe to rinse out my gore holes.

Man, I keep disturbing the sockets and dislodging the clots by accident. Couple that with the fact that I'm a sorta slow healer, and this is gonna take MONTHS to fully recover.

Also, I just noticed that my lower right molar's hole is so big, that I can SEE BONE.

I guess they didn't put in any stitches after all, although now I wish they did.

Were they wisdom teeth or just regular teeth? The process of taking out wisdom teeth is generally more invasive, since it involves "digging out" the teeth, as opposed to just yanking them out when they're already there (if that makes sense)

When I got mine out I was given the option of being knocked out or just having local anesthesia. I opted for the local stuff so I could watch. The dentist was physically struggling to yank my teeth out. I swear, if I was knocked out, he would have put his foot on my head for more leverage. I was given some codeine for later, but I didn't really feel a difference.

Yeah that's the thing with wisdom teeth -- for most people, they are taken out before they even break the gums. As such, they really do have to yank on the patients because that's how deep-rooted the teeth are.
