Alucard has challenged Terra to a chess match! Location of the fight: Chess Hall - a neutral, nondescript chess hall, equipped with immortal referees and spectators as well as all the needed equipment for an officially sanctioned game of chess.. Which side will win?

Guidelines

- The match will occur in real-time (like an FMV sequence). Gameplay mechanics are less important than how the characters would function in a real-time environment.
-This is not a fight, but a chess match under official FIDE rules.
- "Broken" refers to a lot of things, including insta-death, auto-effects, a variety of status effects (e.g., Imp, Silence, Stop, *not* Poison), and revival. Unless stated otherwise, nobody has them, though do use your own discretion.
- There may be SPOILERS from all of the games the characters are from.


Rules for Voting

- Bold your votes (using bold HTML tags).
- You do not need to require justification for your vote, though the admins reserve the right to disqualify votes in the advent of obvious alt voting and other similar scenarios.
- Leaders cannot vote for their own teams (and players in their own pool cannot vote either), but they are free to argue their case.
- If you want to switch your votes simply bold the change; there's no need to delete your post, though you may if you wish.
- This match will end in 2 hours or when 7 votes are reached, whichever comes later.

Alucard is as he appears through the second castle of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. He is equipped with the Cross, has access to his best non-broken equipment and relics up to that point, and does not have the Shield Rod or his intro equipment. He has the Mist relic, but no Mist time extension or poison. The only familiar he has with him is the Bat, which summons more bats to help Alucard when he transforms. He plays as white.

Terra is as she appears in Dissidia and at the end of FF6A, equipped with full Genji armour, Apocalypse, a Hero Ring, and a Gold Hairpin. She has all her natural magic, as well as those gained from Unicorn and Bahamut, including Raise. She does not, however, have Arise, Teleport, Break, Graviga, or Meltdown. She can enter Trance form at any time for 30 seconds (which also grants her access to EX mode), although it will go on cooldown for 2 minutes upon ending. She plays as black.

Isn't Alucard like a couple hundred years old and the castle he inhabits has a librarian that plays it whom he's familiar with?

Seems like Alucard's a bit of a shoe in here I don't see how a thirty second burst of Trance would help.

According to Wikipedia, Alucard has an advantage because he's playing as white. If you believe in a neutral 'eh' world, Alucard wins.

Alucard's feats:

-He disguised himself as a Japanese CIA agent or something. Which means he got into the Japanese CIA. Those people are probably smart.
-He saw through Shaft's clever "Richter is a bad guy" gambit.
-He has centuries of potential knowledge and chess experience. According to his backstory being born in the 15th century, he has seen 600 years worth of chess matches.
-He ALWAYS has a plan.

Meanwhile Terra gets super emotional after being told what to do and let other people strategize for her as she remains a kind of heart. And then she flies off the handle and flies away when she gets upset. She probably will feel guilty for sending pawns to be captured or something, because they'll remind her of all the children she failed.

As jokey as it would be to say that Trance Terra would make Yami Yugi mind crush moves, Alucard would not only likely have planned for such a turn in mindgames, he'd also be smart enough to wait out the Trance.

And, considering whether or not he'd know about the time limit, he'd still see the move pattern change with her transformation and likely move more cautiously, taking minor time to deliberate the new circumstances of his opponents game... until Terra comes back into focus and cries over all the sacrifices her Esper form made.
