Tiffany Nelson from North Carolina says she was discriminated against at a nail salon because of her WEIGHT!!

She said she was a regular at QC Nails and Spa in Denver until the owner told her now that she was too BIG to sit in their chairs!!

Owner Chuan Viet Dang said he was worried that his chairs were breaking and said he was planning to put up a sign to impose a weight limit

Tiffany says she's been going regularly for a year and claims the owner told her "You are too big of a girl and you can't sit in our chairs anymore. You broke our chair"

When confronted though, Dang said it was a MAN who broke the chair, not Tiffany..

But he was still intent on refusing service to fat people for feas they will break and pose a safety issue. He's now planning to put up a sign up his window imposing a weight limit whch he said his wife decided to do.

Weight is not a protected class according to federal discrimination laws..

Tiffany said "It's not okay..My heart hurts for other people who have gone through this but aren't or are afarid to speak up about it"

Does Tiffany look too fat for the chairs? let's see what people think.

Chairs have a weight limit to what they can take of course. This isn't discrimination this is fact. They have a sign up in the dentist I visit basically saying if you weigh more than the weight the chairs can take then talk to a member of staff who will assist you.You could argue that places should have more sturdy chairs but why would places of health and beauty want to encourage people to be that overweight?

She's not skinny but generally you can;t fit in a chair that you're heavy for. I'd say show me the weight limit and give me a scale if I as her-it's not like it could get any more embarrassing, might as well go all the way with it.
Not that I'd go back there again, but the point needs to be made.

It's his business. Who cares? He's choosing less money.
