If you tuned in to the Microsoft E3 press conference earlier this week, you were treated to a handful of surprises. However, one you probably didn’t see coming was the involvement of actor Terry Crews with the game – especially since Overwatch fans were kind of expecting him for their franchise.

So how did Crews get involved with the game, anyway? Funny thing – it actually didn’t take much effort.

Design director Garett Wilson recently spoke to IGN about the Brooklyn Nine Nine star’s involvement with the game, and kept it simple – he just asked. His marketing team notified him that Crews wanted to be in the game, in which he simply responded, “We were like, ‘that’d work. That’d absolutely work.’ He’s a real-life Agent.”

He’s actually not only a playable character within the game (and sure to drop a few F-bombs along the way, as any good-natured agent would probably do), but he also appears at the forefront of the game’s trailer, which can be seen above. He seems like a natural fit, given his charisma and all.

Crews did tease earlier in the year that he would be at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, but most fans assumed that it would be in regard to his wanting to be cast as Doomfist in Blizzard’s Overwatch game. There had been rumors suggesting that the character would be announced, but, surprisingly enough, the publisher has been staying silent over the past week, instead letting Activision have a turn on the show floor with its respective franchises, including Call of Duty: WWII, Destiny 2 and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy.

Now, Crews did drop by Blizzard a while back, so the possibility of him being introduced to the game still lingers. That said, focus at the moment is on Crackdown 3, particularly with him kicking ass and taking names as an official agent within the game.

We’ve seen some of the gameplay from the trailer thus far, but we need to see more of it in action.

Crackdown 3 will arrive on both PC and Xbox One on November 17th. It’s going to be a busy day for Terry Crews fans and potential agents!

I love overwatch, I cant stop playing it, looking forward to playing as him as doomfist. Wonder when he is coming out anyway...

And if Crackdown 3 gets decent ratings then Ill play it.
