Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. I would have liked if they'd played a bigger stadium like U.S Bank (where the Vikings play), but this will do. Xcel is locally known as a place that "has no bad seats anywhere." I can definitely agree, even though I haven't been there for a couple years.

More like I saved them for last because Ozzfest fucked me over (stupid Somerset, Wisconsin bastards). But given Dickinson and Eddie, I imagine you're right. They were actually slated for U.S. Bank before Dickinson got cancer, so fuck cancer too.

And I get what you're saying about Maiden as a live band, but competing with both Ozzy and Dio led Sabbath lineups (Ozzy actually managed to sound great during the End show I went to), is going to be a hard task. I assume there will be way more theatricality, but something about Tony and Geezer blowing down stadiums just by standing still was a frightening prospect.

If any band could, I suppose Maiden is welcome to try.

I'm not a huge music guy and the only "big name" band I've seen live was Iron Maiden in Los Angeles last year.

And it was the best live performance of any kind I've ever spent money on.

$10 for a tour poster is much better. The opening band Ghost was fantastic. Maiden should be intense and insane.

Phew. Holy hell. I am happy to have experienced that. I was one of the more enthusiastic about the Book of Souls material. Only Death or Glory felt wasted. Tgere was enough hits, but it really hit me how strong the set was the whole way. I missed Hills and Hallowed, but what can you do? Blood Brothers was a pleasant surprise.

Wait, they had Hallowed...fuck me. The final song was Wasted Years, which felt odd compared to ending with something like Powerslave or Fear of the Dark's longer, crowd engaging endings. Even Blood Brothers would have worked better.

yeah i didn't understand wasted years as a closer but it has been before as well. yeah when i saw them last year on the first part of the book of souls tour it was an identical set but tears <> great unknown and hallowed <> wrathchild

Wasted Years is my favorite song so I almost teared up when I found out it was closing lol
