It was one of the first "Immortal" rarity items Valve created (technically, at the time, it was only a "Rare" rarity, and got bumped up to "Immortal" later on when there were too many "Rares"), and it was only available for people playing in the beta to get at the time and only if they got lucky with opening chests.

WITH THAT SAID, I think I should cash out my Dota items sometime soon. Don't play as much as I used to.
