99% of us have shit lives compared to the elite. Then there are people with disabilities and/or mental problems.

For instance I have schizophrenia and autism yet I concur white privilege is real. Most of use supporting affirmative action are not saying that one's life is luxurious and great just because you are white. Just as hard to imagine it, others have it worse!

Taking it for granted that when you’re shopping alone, you probably won’t be followed or harassed.

Knowing that if you ask to speak to “the person in charge,” you’ll almost certainly be facing someone of your own race.

Being able to think about different social, political or professional options without asking whether someone of your race would be accepted or allowed to do what you want to do.

Assuming that if you buy a house in a nice neighborhood, your neighbors will be pleasant or neutral toward you.

Feeling welcomed and “normal” in the usual walks of public life, institutional and social.

What is white privilege? It’s the level of societal advantage that comes with being seen as the norm in America, automatically conferred irrespective of wealth, gender or other factors. It makes life smoother, but it’s something you would barely notice unless it were suddenly taken away — or unless it had never applied to you in the first place.

I'm white. Truck driver by trade. Haul cars.

Pulled into a weigh station a couple weeks back. White cop says I'm over length. $750 ticket. I ask if he'll allow me to adjust my load, if he'll let me go. Cop says sure, no problem.

As I'm making my adjustments, another tractor trailer gets pulled for inspection. Asian driver. Same exact issue as mine - car hauler, over length. Guy has plenty of room on his trailer to make adjustments. Seeing what I'm doing, driver asks if he can adjust... cop gives him a ticket.

Now, I don't know if that was "white privilege" or not, but damn it all if it didn't come across that way.

It depends where you live. In a place like Finland, basically everyone is white, so... Even in more diverse countries, it's not always the case. I mean, in Canada, when it comes to government jobs especially, you don't even need competence sometimes, just don't be white. They try so hard to look progressive that they end up with a system that's reverse-racist. All this shit started with Trudeau Sr. and now his son is fucking other things up while racking up a deficit too.

They act like nobody else was ever subject to persecution. They need a reality check. History is fucking harsh unless you're an aristocrat, and even then it might be (looking at you, Tsar Nicholas II). The difference between a successful culture and an unsuccessful one, like with individual people, is their ability to just suck it up and change their situation. That wasn't always possible, obviously, but there's nothing stopping anybody now but their attitude most of the time. Watch the "Legends with JBL" WWE special with Ron Simmons. He is epic.

I think I've used this example before, but my dad's family fled from the Russian army with literally nothing but their clothing. It was "die because you're German" or "flee in terror and live". I'm not sitting here expecting a handout from Putin while I blame anything on Russia. The world is a cruel place... My family made lemonade with their lemons and they eventually all ended up with good jobs too. To top if off, they didn't even speak English upon arrival and Canada was extremely xenophobic until the late '60s. They had to make that work. This makes me refuse to accept any whiners.
