I would recommend finding an activity you enjoy and just do it. I went through a bit of a crisis last summer and started bouldering to take my mind off of it. It helped immensely and I still go nearly every day.

Find something you are passionate about and do it.

You're a handsome guy and a great dad. You'll have no problem moving on to someone that actually deserves a guy like you once you get through the normal grieving process. It's honestly better she told you now instead of you getting hit with this decades later -- you're waaaaaay better off knowing if there are any resentments. Just don't go the bitter asshole route. Trust me on that one ;)

The hardest thing is not falling into the "I don't deserve it" trap. You absolutely deserve it bro. Just not meant to be with this one girl is all. Give it time.

I'm soon off to college so I'm not too worried about senior year crush girl, she can go screw herself for the time being. And I never had anything with her so it's relatively easy to just get over it. Can't possibly imagine what you're feeling right now man. Three years is a while.

I now have no one to get up with my kid in the morning. I leave for work at 5:30am and his bus comes at 8:30am.

I was married over 7 years. 2 kids. Last July we split. Took me maybe .. I dunno... 3 or 4 months to start feeling positive again. Things get weird and you go through stages. If I could tell myself what I know now being 11 months separated IT GETS EASIER. Seriously it will but in the beginning it's chaos, mixed feelings, loneliness.

I have a full time job, see my kids every weekend. Life is busy. But one thing you HAVE to force yourself to do is see friends. Even just for dinner, or a movie, or to grab a cold one. Seriously it helps.

It's a weird adjustment but one day you wake up and you're like "shit man, I'm single, I've got no one to answer to. " great fucking feeling.

Instead of feeling sad or alone you now feel like you can do whatever the hell you want and flirt with anyone and do whatever you please in your off time and just give zero fucks.
