I'm about ready to switch to another carrier, it's ridiculous. My last ditch effort is going to be calling in and wanting to cancel to see if they'll give me a cheaper plan. But it may not be worth it even then.

$115 a month for unlimited calling and texting and 4GB data.

Would be looking at $65 a month for unlimited calling and international texting and 3GB data. That is a big difference.

If I lived 15 minutes away in Saskatchewan it would be $48 for unlimited calling and texting and 5GB data.

Fucking Canadian telecoms

Damn, and I was about to say I'm not gonna tell you mine. I pay ~$110, but that includes unlimited everything, the cost of the phone over installments, and an HBO subscription. Since I had been subscribing to it for $15 a month I guess it kinda makes my phone bill cheaper.

Yeah this current rate includes a subsidized Nexus 6P

But it's just so much less expensive to cancel my current plan, pay off the balance, and bring the phone elsewhere. After 2 months the $125 remaining balance will be made up for and I'll be on a way cheaper plan until I decide I really want a new phone.

Another carrier includes spotify for the $65 and might be worthwhile

What kind of data do you have? Or does that mean unlimited data?

Who are you with @Ogurisama?

I'm a little miffed that my plan does not include international messaging. Used to like texting Americans. Sadly telus does not include it and charges a good deal extra.

Pretty solid.

And are you in the US

Here that would be an extra $40 to bump me to only 10GB, plus $30 per extra phone on the account. So $215 for less...

If you have that, only buy out your phones now. And this is coming from someone that works in the industry
Its alot better plan then anything on market today.

Though one thing to watch for, if your plan is not 4g/LTE (and in the future 5g) compatible. Once old networks start to close down you might lose service. But worry about that when that bridge is crossed.

Yeah, Koodo is Telus, and Virgin is Bell. Fido is Rogers.

Looking at the coverage map, we do have coverage, but I cant really say that is the best way to tell coverage maps are never 100% accurate. But either way, my plan would be impossible for you to get, short of you working or going on an employee line.

Yeah. They say there's coverage. There's a lot of dead zones, especially near the water. I have known people with Rogers that move up here (just so but outside town) and get threatened to be dropped for their data because they're always roaming. Either way it's only LTE and not 4G or LTE-A with them here.

I know the telus coverage is a bit better than bell.

Somehow I doubt telus is going to agree to cut $50 off my bill each month so I think I'm just going to look at transferring to Koodo or Virgin.

Maybe not virgin as the nearest store is over an hour away. We do have Fido here in town. Hmmm.

I don't have my phone on contract because I don't like paying monthly for something that's not all that important to me and I don't feel the need to spend vast amounts of money on the latest phone. I have a pay as you go Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc. I don't need anything more than that at this point. I'll only upgrade to something better if apps start not working on my phones current OS.

I don't know the specific price, since I'm on a family plan, but I've unlimited everything with T-Mobile. Ive used my phone as a hotspot numerous times when the internet was out to game on, and never had any lag. Speeds clocked anywhere from 30-150mbps, but of course depends on time/location. I know it was over $1500 cheaper a year though, compared to AT&T, for 5 lines.

My bill last month was $62.69 and that includes unlimited talk, text, and 2GB of data (with up to .5GB rollover data). I get like a 10% discount from my company since my phone doubles as a pager. I also have payed off my phone so it is not included in the price.

This is through Verizon BTW.

Payphones can be a great deal, I'd recommend everyone check out the phones they see at Kroger or their convenience store. I don't see any reason to get a contract.

Also before you buy anything, everyone should google *name of thing* promotion code. It's basically throwing away money if you don't. Every time I renew my phone I get something like double the minutes just for that.

Agreed.
I mean for example if I pay £10 top up I get 1GB UK mobile internet bundle and 400 texts for free. After that I still have my credit for as long as it lasts me. Not too bad really considering the most internet I use on my phone if over WI-FI anyway so my credit is just for texts and the odd phone call.

AT&T

It's $75 a month but I'm also paying like $25 a month on the phone itself so it's really like $50 a month for service. I have unlimited data though. I think if I were to ever hit 22GBs in a month they start throttling my speeds but the closest I've ever come was like 16 gigs in a month because my wifi was out.

I see there are "black market phones" that offer the scandalous price of... $45 a month. -_-

This is probably the most barebones at $20 a month, 100 minutes and unlimited text, no data. If you think about it most Americans probably pay more than that and they end up using not a whole lot anyway.
