Now that they fucked up by having the belt still not change hands at Dominion, (which had no hype going into it really anyway, unlike WK) and they are about to lose the best worker in the world not already in the WWE, to the WWE in Omega now, I would like a written apology from everyone who said I was wrong and overreacting about WK, that the belt would change hands at Dominion and it would be an even bigger deal for Omega.

First of all, Dominion had plenty of hype going in unless you're using as your measuring stick this one topic, which has maybe a half dozen people that watch the company. Second of all, I get the argument for putting the belt on Omega there, but I'd hardly go so far as to call it a fuck up by keeping the belt on the guy that's having a legendary run at the top both in the ring and at the box office.

Thirdly, It's actually baffling to me that anybody can look at the way they're booking Omega and think there's literally any chance he's going to WWE soon.

He just went to a 60-minute draw with the Ace of the company and was on the verge of beating him multiple times and was even starting to show signs of a big face turn. New Japan isn't WWE. Everything they do matters, especially in the main event scene. Omega is going to be there for a long time yet, and his time at the top will come. He's all but assured to have a top-level program with Ibushi at WK this year, too.

NJPW is not an instant gratification kind of company. Look how long it took for them to elevate Shibata, and look how amazing it was when they finally did. Omega has only been a heavyweight for a year. It's a testament to his ability that they've made him as much of a focus as they have.

So no, you don't get a written apology. You're still wrong.

Yes I did. The match itself was hype there, but there wasn't any leading INTO it. That's when hype matters for a match. Would the Running Up That Hill HBK Taker promo have meant anything for hype and buys if they played it after Mania?
