Edgar Wright didn't want to connect Ant-Man to the MCU.

Also, Phil Lord has dropped out of the DCEU too, so maybe he's the problem...

Why did Edgar Wright sign on to begin with then?

Disney has nothing to do with this decision, or with the Marvel one. Iger gives his properties room to do their own thing. It was made by Kennedy and LFL.

It's concerning but if it means they're running a tight ship and trying to make everything work perfectly then I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

This managed to kill what little optimism I had for this movie, though. Han Solo played by someone that isn't Harrison Ford is a mistake.

Yeah but unless they went with realistic CG Ford a young Han movie couldn't star him.

Doesn't Harrison Ford hate playing the character and only signed on to do Episode 7 if Han Solo died in it?

No, they left Flash to work on the Han Solo movie. Now that they've been fired from the Han Solo movie, they're going back to Flash, or at least trying to.

I don't think Ford hates star Star Wars/Han Solo. He just hates nerds bugging him about it.

Literally no one is dropping out of DCEU. Snyder had family issues to attend to. Everyone else is still on board.

Rumors that Ben Affleck dropped are baseless lies.

Except for two directors for Justice League Dark, pretty much everyone involved with Flash, and Affleck stepping down as director of Batman with him previously saying he wouldn't do it if it "doesn’t come together in a way I think is really great".
And then there's at least 4 movies that have seemingly never had a director attached, including Cyborg which has had no one but Fisher attached as far as I can see.

On top of that, a lot of the movies they've announced are so early in development with literally nothing seeming ready to come after Aquaman, as well as nothing in the 13 month gap between it and JL. It'll be a miracle if the DCEU survives past JL.

It's more that the character basically is Harrison Ford. The movie is also keeping within the same canon so it's not like it's meant to be a new adaptation of the character either. This is the same franchise that used CGI stand-ins for the last movie to recreate the original characters.

It is a pretty weird decision tbh. Not really sure what to think about this movie.

Affleck did not step down. He brought on a co-director to help because he said acting as Batman and Directing was too much work to do all by himself. The script for The Batman was personally signed off on by him and Geoff Johns.

Stuff after Aquaman is on hold pending Justice League. Depends on fan reactions. If people want more Wonder Woman-style movies, stuff after Aquaman will be modeled after Wonder Woman. If they want more Justice League-style movies, they'll model it after that. From the trailers, you can see Justice League was retooled quite a bit to bring it more in line with the kind of casualness you can find in The Avengers, while Wonder Woman was kind of its own thing / coming-of-age-story-but-with-superheroes.

These movies will be split most likely between Patty Jenkins and Joss Whedon. They're in contract negotiations right now.

Every movie has been very profitable so far, why do you think it won't survive? Just because it undersold estimations?
