Eh. She deserved it. If I was in his shoes I'd walk away, but that man took a shit ton of slaps and had the patience of a saint. Then when he finally did something, all he did was pop her in the mouth and leave it at that.

to be fair the guy in the black shirt was trying real hard to make her stop

and the crowd didn't suddenly attack him either for his response. he wisely left as soon as it had been done, as the stronger party should once a weaker aggressor ceases action

i am a bit hesitant about using fists. a shove to get her off you would be sufficient i think. it's a different story if she has a deadly weapon though

- girl torments and attacks guy repeatedly
- crowd films, laughs, has a good time
- guy finally retaliates and lands a punch on her
- crowd immediately goes after the guy, shouting things like "She's a girl! I'm gonna make you pay!"

Apparently he took about 48 shots actually. And those are only the ones that we got on camera.

Why do people think that women will give in to a nice shove or being "restrained"?

Especially since in this video, someone tried restraining her and it didn't work. Also the victim pushed her away towards the end and that didn't work.

Generally against hitting girls. My ex hit me a few times when she was angry but I would never hit back because she was so tiny, and was mostly just talk.

I guess it depends on what you mean by danger. Was he in danger of death, no. Was he in immediate danger of being attacked viciously by another human, absolutely. That's really all the context needed to defend himself.

Honestly, he maybe could have. Keep in mind however that at least two methods of deescalation didn't work (him walking away and the other guy trying to restrain her). Either way, that's not the only solution and he was well within his right to defend himself in this particular situation.

what you really want is to knock a weaker assailant to the ground

this gives you many seconds of time to get away from them

a shove doesnt really give you a real head start and they can easily follow

this is why they teach hip throws in womens' self defense classes

same principles apply here

I can (somewhat these days) understand Spanish but I can't really hear what either of them are saying in the vid except around the 1 minute mark where she calls him a puto (bitch) and she keeps mentioning what sounds like "Teresa" which means Theresa. Which makes me think he was talking to some other girl named Theresa maybe?

Also at the very end a guy says "it is what it is but why so early, how is that?". Or something like that
