Ryu3 and Terra are rejected for a randomized roster that most closely approaches 7 upkeep. That is, a 6/week (since Archer can't be fielded without his master).

The randomly selected mercenary is Lilith. Thus...

Dante vs. Lilith.

Terrains: Devil May Cry (4 GP) vs. NO BID (illegal roster sent in). Match takes place in Devil May Cry.

That's actually not true.

Rules

The reverse is also true, and you may increase your roster size to use only weaker mercs into a high-tier match if you so choose. The roster cap in this case is decided by the highest upkeep merc you choose to bring to the match. In a high-tier match:

5/day = 6 total mercs
4/day = 8 total mercs
3/day = 10 total mercs
2/day = 12 total mercs
1/day = 14 total mercs

Heihachi

The maximum roster size this wartime for all teams is reduced by 4 (and cannot be reduced below 1)

High Tier Match, 4/Day highest upkeep merc rostered = 8 total mercs - 4 Heihachi = 4 Mercs total allowable

So it's a valid roster. I did a lot of research into buying H.

That roster size rule is absolutely fuckin worthless as is (Dante + 4 dudes cleans 10 3/weeks up izi) but I'm pondering if it's worth keeping around and reworking to function based on the difference between the highest upkeep rosterable merc on the enemy team and yours (so if Dante is rosterable in lowbie and you didn't pay anyone down, you do get to field 10 dudes). Thinking about a situation where you get to pick on-tier mercs from the unbought pool to pad out your roster to fight an overtiered opponent or something of that ilk (but you don't get to use abils - battleworth only). Maybe that's a solid answer to paydowns?

Funny thing is when I made Heihachi I definitely remembered the rule cause I wanted someone to do that. Hell the functionality for Heihachi to have an unfair match is right there on his merc with A Kuma.

I just feel like between the buffs/debuffs of Tidus, Agnes(?), Edgar, the mixed assault they can bring with Fortune's railgun, Neclord's magic, and some good melees up front who should at least take some amount of effort to take down particularly with the buff swing, they could bring him down.

That being said that's a pretty prime set of 3s and probably not indicative of what an average Dante vs 10 3s match would look like.

I agree. The leader getting to PICK which mercs join the match would be very important - if it's random the chance of garbage-ass options is too high. I'm gonna tinker with a rough draft of a rework of the 'undertier' rules to function based on the difference between your strongest rosterable merc and the opponent's, but I think I can probably fix that rule into at least kinda mattering for future games.

A well selected group of 10 could down Dante. Get somebody keeping Dante slowed, another person keeping the party hasted, Geralt with his bomb to stop Devil Trigger, Bowser inflicting Fear with Boo (50% to attack/defense), strong mages with Flare, maybe toss in Neclord

I feel like it's a tough thing to balance. Like, say your opponent brings Zero to low. You ability wreck him with an SoB (so he's still technically rosterable) and you still get to roster a ton of dudes.

This order is something the mercenary will consider given from the merc's highest ranking superior, and may be given before or after rosters are done. Everyone on the team will follow the lead of CATS's attached mercenary regardless of personality or berserker traits. However the order given will be converted into CATS speak by an admin when being put into the battle write-up.

The Wrex trigger prevents any further ability usage in wartime. Samus can't use Save the Animals.
