Idk you tip the bartender and he's not bringing drinks to your home and probably undercutting your drinks anyway.

I used to work in a pizza delivery place and people would tip me once in a while at the counter. You don't have to, but its nice to make some more money.

Tipping on carryout orders kinda' defeats the purpose of picking it up myself in the first place.

Sometimes...some places here in NYC have 'Tip' jars at the counters...so on occasion I might leave a Buck or Two...

I usually do tip a little on pickup for takeout food. Especially if they have to pack up a lot of things. It really depends on the place.

Only if they offer you drinks to go or something else to really go out of their way to give you service. If you are just picking up the food then no.

I've been doing carry out from a local place every week for the past 7 years. Nobody expects you to. There's a jar from time to time and people do periodically throw some change in there but they're not doing any extra service for you.

The way I see it is, if I have to go and get my food/drink, I'm not tipping. If it's brought to me, I'll tip. I still tip waiters/waitresses (if I'm eating AT the restaurant) because they are "technically" bringing me my food, even though I had to go to the restaurant to get it.

The one that irks me the most is the one at the gym cafe. Like holy shit, there's no reason there should be tips. I'm not getting any special service by any means. It's just a generic cafe with healthy food. Half the time I don't even get something that they have to make, I just grab one of the pre-made salads from the cooler. Does that really merit a tip?

I tip every time I pick up food, it's only ever $1 or $2 but I find the more I tip at the same places the more free things I get. My first job was at Dominos so I'm aware those guys are making less than minimum wage because their tips get thrown in.

Currently a delivery driver at Pizza Hut

Tipping for a carry out is not really necessary at all, but is always appreciated. Those tips always go to the cooks, who make around minimum wage.(atleast thats how they do it at my store)

However like i said its not really necessary, but tipping the actual delivery driver for a delivery being made i would say is the equivalent of tipping a waiter
