1. I heard they are usually steamed, that burns all the dirt and stuff on the inside right?

2. I was told the orange stuff on the bottom is feces, not carrots, is that true?

3. Is it dangerous to intake too much spice? I generally just lick the shells :p

Well, you steam or boil them usually. The dirt on the outside is usually rinsed first or is cleaned during cooking, but either way you don't eat that part. The inside bits are cooked, but it includes internal organs, eggs, and even feces so the nutritional value is questionable.

We usual rinse them under cold water as we deshelled and cleaned them out. Everything that that isn't meat is guts and stuff.

You might want to just buy a crab juice.
