My brother said he wanted to check it out for a while now, so we went out there. There were tons of 80's/90's bits of nostalgia, countless arcade games, and themed cocktails. I didn't drink anything because I have to get up for work in... five hours, but we played through the Simpsons arcade game, Captain America/Avengers, and Double Dragon.

tbh, been so long since I've played that. I never got the NES game (which only has 2p support anyway?) but I grabbed the awful GB version. It's a shame that the arcade game hasn't been ported to a modern console afaik.

Actually I've been doing a lot more things this summer than I normally would. I went to a pool party, a kickass party/anime viewing in the park, I may be going to a gay bar on Friday (it's complicated, but the answer to your question is no), and I'll probably go see another anime movie at a local theater on Saturday.

tbh, I can't recall any theaters in my area really covering anything except for Mononoke many years back. is that a regular thing with yours?

My town has a couple of barcades. They're fun, but tend to be a little louder/rowdier than bars I like to frequent.

I don't think so. It's a small theater that mainly shows different kinds of artsy movies. A couple months ago they showed Your Name, and this weekend they're doing Paprika.

But I only recently found out about the theater, so it may be more common than I know.

I was looking at the web page and noticed that it said "Part of the Circle Cinema Anime Club," so I'll have to inquire about that; it's definitely something I'm interested in.


About the gay bar, it really wasn't bad at all. I had one drink, which is one more than my average, and it might have gotten me a little looser.

I think I may have been just as comfortable there as a normal bar, if not more so. I'm generally all about people being able to be themselves and have a good time, and that's the kind of positive energy the place exuded. There were some other straight guys and a lot of women. The ladies were all pretty high on the atmosphere too, which makes it an oddly good place to hook up; if I wasn't keyblader I probably would have been able to.

And I also got my shoes thrown up on from a random drunk chick, and met a full on queen; so, you know, popped those cherries.
