You dont knoe someone truly until you live with them. When you out there, you see if your way of life is compatible with others. Are you going to be a disorganized. Are you gonna be productive for your share of rent. Are you confrontational. Are you friendly. Are you too nice.

Roommates or Girlfriend.
Roommates are the folks who have the common interest to leave the house and live on their own...with others. Many get along but after awhile, it gets sensitive. You either part of the pack community or some divide the space and belongings with territorial boundaries. For example, buying food and storing in the fridge. Will roommates divided whats theirs or share. Will one or the other divide the fridge to themselves.

Girlfriend.
You think and feel shes the one for you. An agreement and arrangement gets decided to live together in a place for just both of you. Are you going be that person she or he can depend on. You will further the relationship and allow each other the trust needed to progress into the next level of commitment, dedication, compatibility... marriage.

I get to walk around naked, use my whole fridge, use my laundry machine whenever I want, blast whatever music, don't have to worry about strangers being invited in from my friend (breaking and stealing my shit).

I have PTSD nightmares of living in a 6 person suite in college. While it was awesome living with friends there were still some major drawbacks.

I've never tried living on my own and I think it sounds like Heaven. I want to get rid of my girlfriend just to get that experience.

I prefer living on my own, I'm a pretty reserved/reclusive person. I fucking hated living with my family or roommates.

My first year of grad school I lived alone (before then I had roommates) and I hated it, so I ended up getting roommates again.

Now this summer I live alone, and it turns out that it still sucks.
