ive only played streets of rage 2 and only really played final fight 1.

people always say SoR2 is the best beat 'em up game and I disagree. i think its overrated. people praise the music a lot and even the art style. but i dont find anything in sor2 impressive at all. i get bored of it very quickly. everything seems bland and uninspired. i just cant get into sor at all.

now final fight is by far the better game in my opinion. it does everything right: tight mechanics, great art style, cool enemies, and great soundtrack. i like the characters as well even if they aren't that different from each other besides the speed and attack power. its incredibly fun and the stages are varied and pretty good. the game isn't perfect by any means. ive played the snes and arcade versions (xbla/psn). i consider final fight my favorite beat 'em up. i do like turtles in time, but i do get bored of it after playing a while, but this is normal in the beat 'em up genre. i see turtles in time more of a co-op game because my brother and I always played it together as kids.

for those that like sor more, what exactly makes it better than final fight in your opinion?

edit: i forgot to say that one of SoR's pros over Final Fight is that it features a playable female character. I know FF added one in FF2 or 3, but SoR had one since the first. i like playing as female characters so that's a plus that needed to be mentioned.

I agree. I loved FF but never like SoR much. The TMNT beat-em-ups are solid too.

I think they are both overrated. AvP, both D&D, Cadillacs and Dinosaurs, Ninja Baseball Bat Man, Armored Warriors, and so many others are way better than FF and SoR.
