There's also the fact that if you're too incompetent to hold down a job in the private sector, you usually end up in Government work like the DMV before ending up on full out welfare.

I imagine it's because government bureaucracy makes everything take forever and people just blame the employees they interact with.

Although I did once have to go to a Social Security office with a room full of people waiting for an appointment, only to have every single employee go in the back and we hear cheering a few minutes later. Apparently they were having a spirit week like they were a fuckin' high school getting ready for homecoming.

Most of those jobs are salary based with no incentive to be productive and often times there's little to no room for promotion which adds to the idea of there being no incentive for being productive.

So it's understandable that lazy people in those types of jobs drag their feet even more so than they would in the private sector.

I had to go to the Social Security office a few weeks ago to get a new card. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Surprised the fuck out of me.
